UPDATE 8:44PM: The semi truck involved in the crash Thursday night near the intersection of South Carson Street and Highway 50 at Spooner Junction is upright, ready for tow but lanes are still blocked. The Nevada Highway Patrol asks motorists for patience and to give crews room to work.

The Nevada Highway Patrol identified a Fernley woman who died in a wrong-way crash early Sunday morning on Interstate 80 west of Patrick and the USA Parkway.

A 71-year-old Mound House man was arrested late Monday for misdemeanor obstructing a police officer, driving with expired registration and basic speeding, a Carson City sheriff's deputy said.

A 49-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday evening in the 1900 block of N. Fall Street on Tahoe Township traffic warrants after deputies responded to a call regarding possible threats.

The Nevada Highway Patrol has identified a 79-year-old Fallon man who died Saturday, Aug. 25 in a single vehicle crash on US Highway 50 in Churchill County, 60 miles east of Fallon near Cold Springs Station.

MINDEN — An Alturas, Calif., man is in custody following a chase involving a motorhome late Sunday night that began in South Lake Tahoe then eastbound Highway 50 on Spooner and ended with a crash into a building on Highway 395 in Gardnerville.

A vehicle pursuit that began on Highway 50 near Cave Rock at Lake Tahoe ended Sunday night with a crash in south Douglas County with one person in custody.

Carson City emergency crews and the Nevada Highway Patrol are on scene of a motor vehicle accident in the eastbound lanes of Spooner Junction, where Interstate 580, U.S. Highway 395 South and U.S. Highway 50 West meet in South Carson City.

The accident is blocking traffic. Motorists can expect delays.

UPDATE 5:42PM: Old Highway 395 is now open in both directions after a wildfire closed the highway from Eastlake to Bellevue, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

UPDATE: 5:20PM: Forward progress stopped on Washoe Valley "Berry Fire."

The 8-acre fire is now 30 percent contained according to Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District.

Evacuations are still in place for remaining addresses.

Crews will remain on site overnight "mopping up." Some Carson City Fire Department crews are being released from the scene. The cause is under investigation.

5:00PM: Good progress on the Berry Fire is reported by Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District. Firefighters are working to secure utilities. The evacuation area has been reduced to 8 addresses. The Galena Evacuation Center is now closed.

Old US 395 between Bellevue and Eastlake Drive closed for approximately 1 hour.

Washoe Valley outages have yet to be fixed. Original estimated time of restoration was 5:30PM, however the fire could prolong the restoration.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

DAYTON — The Nevada Highway Patrol says alcohol is suspected in a single-vehicle crash early Friday that sent one man to a hospital.

Carson City paramedics, Lyon County rescue and the Nevada Highway Patrol were called early Wednesday evening to a vehicle rollover accident with multiple injuries in the area of Highway 50 and Jeanette Drive in Mound House.

The Nevada Highway Patrol is on scene of a two-vehicle accident on the Interstate 580 side of Spooner Junction interchange in the westbound lanes.

Carson City Fire Department is responding. One person is complaining of neck pain. No other injuries reported.

Motorists in the area are advised to use caution. Traffic will be slow and there may be some delays.

A 30 year-old man was arrested early Friday morning at 12:33 a.m. on multiple drug offenses, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy said, including two counts of felony heroin possession, one count of felony methamphetamine possession, and gross misdemeanor possession of a dangerous prescription drug without a prescription.

Nevada's two largest counties have seen 29 lives lost since the New Year. Clark County has had 26 pedestrian deaths while Washoe County has had 3 pedestrian deaths. The Nevada Highway Patrol will be Joining Forces with law enforcement statewide from August 6-24, 2018 to enforce pedestrian laws for both drivers and pedestrians.

The Nevada Highway Patrol has identified a California man who died in a vehicle accident that happened Wednesday, July 25, on US Highway 6 in Esmeralda County.

A 31 year-old Reno woman was arrested Friday afternoon at 2:07 p.m. in the 1400 block of South Carson Street on a pair of felony violations, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy reported, including burglary and grand larceny.

According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, they are asking for assistance in locating a tractor/trailer that was involved in a fatal crash near Winnemucca on I-80, last seen heading towards Reno.

UPDATE 5:41PM: Highway 50 is back open in both directions and forward progress has been stopped on the fire at Iron Mountain Boulevard and Broken Arrow Road near Stagecoach, according to the battalion chief. As of 5:28 p.m. the mop up phase was underway. At 5:40 p.m., the chief noted several power poles were damaged due to the fire.

UPDATE: Highway 50 was closed in both directions just before 5 p.m. because of the fire burning near Stagecoach off of Iron Mountain Drive. Both eastbound and westbound traffic is being escorted through. Please avoid the area if possible and yield for emergency vehicles.
