With players competing in a full season of Web.com Tour tournaments, the 50 who earn a PGA Tour spot each year are Tour battle-tested and ready and able to compete at the highest level.

Carson City Chamber's April 23 Soup's On luncheon focuses on social media

Event Date:
April 23, 2015 - 11:30am
Like it or hate it, social media is the most effective way to advertise. Some local businesses don’t use their computers effectively to reach out to new customers and keep current customers coming into their business.

If you can email, you can reach out to customers. Let them know the special of the day, the launch of a new product or just remind them now and then you are there and welcome their business.

Not all businesses need to have a web presence, but they do need to learn how to build and maintain a Facebook Page and Twitter.

Why The NDE Failed to Show up for Common Core Forum

What happened at the Common Core Forum in Carson City on 1/13/15

Stotsky and Milgram were the only two members of Common Core’s Validation Committee who are content area specialists and who have also written high K-12 standards.

Neighbors Nominate — Everyone Elects

CC Ballot 1 is pretty simple. If this ballot question is adopted, it would affect only the June primary for supervisors. It has no effect on any November general election. In short, the purpose of the June primary then, would be to nominate; and, the purpose of the November general, would be to elect.

Driving a Pint Size Car

I first saw a Smart Car in Paris. We were visiting my daughter who was studying abroad in the Fall of 2004. My wife took a photo of me standing behind the uber compact with my arms stretching from bumper to bumper. The design and size were like nothing I had seen in an automobile; it was very Euro.

In 2012 the people of Carson City voted DOWN the ballot initiative CC #1 which called for a 1/8th cent hike in the sales tax, to be used for a new library and other development downtown, including the reduction of traffic on Carson Street from 4 to 2 lanes so as to make room for wider, more pedestrian friendly sidewalks or additional street parking or both.

Good news in the campaign against Common Core

This article is a slight rewrite of the an e-mail sent by the president of stopcommoncorenevada.com 1. We've had the best media coverage yet. Superintendent of Public Instruction Dale Erquiaga was on Jon Ralston 2/06/2014 discussing Common Core (from 17:50-24:40).  Jon read three of our emails and used them to pose some pointed questions.
