The Brewery Arts Center campus in Carson City is alive Wednesdays this summer with the best food trucks around for a tasty midweek alternative.

Join Team Hope on Tuesday, July 30 at Firehouse Subs, Hwy 50, in Carson City for a Dine And Donate event to benefit the Carson City, Douglas County Relay For Life.

From 5 to 9 p.m., Firehouse Subs will be donating a portion of their proceeds to the American Cancer Society Relay for Life! Firehouse Subs is located at 3120 US-50, Carson City.

With a daytime high around 92 and plenty of sunshine, activities lined up around Carson City for Tuesday, July 30, feature a midnight meteor shower gathering at the Jack C. Davis Observatory, morning and evening hikes, a Capital City youth fall baseball meeting, a ladies bike ride, a Relay for Life fundraiser at Firehouse Subs, archery at Centennial Park, art showings and more. Enjoy.

Coins with the famous “CC” mark of the Carson City Mint are coveted by coin collectors and those minted in 1870 — the first year of operation for the Mint — rank highly among them in terms of historic and monetary value.

On Thursday, the very coin press that minted the original will be recreating replicas of the 1870 Liberty Seated Half Dollar in the same building that produced the originals almost 150 years ago.

UPDATE: There's a star party late Monday night into Tuesday morning hosted by Carson City Parks and Recreation and Open Space. For summer’s most visible meteor showers, join the Carson City Parks, Rec and Open Space Department at Western Nevada College’s Jack C. Davis Observatory for some late night, educational fun. No pre-registration necessary. Please wear close-toed shoes and bring water for night hiking from the Observatory. Head lamps and flashlights are allowed. This upcoming Monday is the Aquariids Viewing Party starting at 12:00 a.m. Tuesday (technically Monday night).

Heading into Monday, July 29, 2019 and we're wondering how the month went by so quickly. Again we're looking at a fairly typical end of July day weather wise, with sunny skies and a high around 94. On tap around Carson City are athletic, art and speaking events, a life guard camp, a computer coding camp, line dancing lessons and more. Enjoy.

The annual Carson City Historical Society Ice Cream Social is Saturday, August 10, 2019 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Foreman-Roberts House Museum Park, 1207 N. Carson Street, Carson City.

Carson Mall in Carson City will host a Cruise Night from 5 to 7 p.m. this Friday night, July 19. The cruise will be in the same area as Dutch Brothers. Organizers ask for a donation of non-perishable food. The cruise is open to all makes and models. Call 775-671-8150 for information.

Advocates to End Domestic Violence will host the 26th annual Taste of Downtown event in Carson City on Saturday July 20, 2019 in historic downtown Carson City.

Heading into Monday, July 15, 2019 the Carson City region is looking at sunny skies, breezy conditions and a slight cooling trend over the next couple days, according to the National Weather Service. It’s been almost 150 years since the first Liberty Seated half dollar was struck on Coin Press No. 1 inside the U.S. Branch Mint in Carson City — coins made of Nevada silver and bearing the signature “CC” mint mark.

The Nevada State Museum in Carson City plans to commemorate that milestone on August 1 – using the same coin press inside the same building where the original coins were struck in 1870 — with an exclusive Half Dollar Release Party.

Tomorrow, Thursday July 11, the first of the summer artist series — free to the public — will feature artists Claire Scully and Russ Connell from 5 to 6:30 p.m.

Each artist will be presenting for 45 minutes. The series will be held in the Brick (the Community Development Building) at 108 Proctor Street in Carson City

Heading into Monday, July 8, 2019 we want to give a big shout out to all the local organizations and agencies that made this Fourth of July weekend around the Carson City region one to remember. For Monday we're looking at a number of events including a basketball camp at the MAC, a children's theater camp, a local talk with the Carson City Airport manager, art activities, line dancing and more.

The Carson City Historical Society will host an open house at the Foreman-Roberts House Museum on Wednesday, July 17, 2019 from 5 to 7 p.m.

Highlights of Carson City history and the families that lived in this historic house are presented on a free, docent led tour of the Foreman-Roberts House. After touring the Museum, enjoy light refreshments in the Carriage and view the informative displays. The museum is located at 1207 N. Carson St.

As we go forward and move ahead into Tuesday, July 2, 2019 we're looking at another sunny day, all the better as we prepare to celebrate Independence Day. Are you ready for July 4 fireworks at Mills Park? As a Tuesday warmup, get the heart pumping during Muscle Powered's three fitness outings. Plus there's art showings, hands-on science activities in Silver City, an evening archery shoot, a viewing of the 1953 film "From Here to Eternity" at the Brewery Arts Center hosted by the Carson City Classic Cinema Club and more.
