Olde Time Christmas brings Santa Parade to downtown Carson City this Saturday
Santa will be making an appearance with a music-filled parade through downtown Carson City this Saturday, Dec. 8. Children, veterans, and community members are welcomed to join in the parade to help escort Santa through the town.
The parade will start promptly at 11 a.m., with line up beginning at 10:30 a.m. on the corner of W. Telegraph Street and Curry Street at Telegraph Square.
The Parade route is two blocks long, from Telegraph and Curry Streets to Musser and Carson Streets, then back to Telegraph Square.
Santa will be at the porch of Rocking and Rolling at 402 N. Curry Street after the parade until 1 p.m., with candy canes for the children. Bring your camera for Santa pictures. If the weather turns, Santa will move inside to the restaurant Gather.
Vendors will be at Telegraph Square from 10:30 a.m. until 1 p.m.
There will be face painting and children’s activities. Nancy Barker will be providing music through her keyboard and singing.
The La Enchilada Food Truck will be offering coffee, hot chocolate and food.
FISH will be collecting non perishable foods for its holiday food drive as well as winter clothing in kids sizes through adult XXL.
There will also be a gift basket raffle by local merchants and restaurants; tickets for the raffle can be purchased at rocking and rolling after December 1, and the winners will be selected following the event.
