Nevada Day Rock drilling winners announced

The 34th annual Bowers Mansion Bluegrass Festival is back this weekend from Aug. 16-18 beginning with the Rattlesnake Mountain Boys kicking things off at the Davis Creek Amphitheater at 7 p.m. on Friday.

Bluegrass bands both national and local will convene at the historic mansion along with kids activities, food trucks, games, and more!

CARSON CITY — July employment in Nevada was up 5,200 over the month and 43,400 over the year. The state’s unemployment rate is at 4.1 percent, up 0.1 percent point from June, and down 0.4 percent compared to last July, according to the state's Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation’s economic report released Wednesday.

CARSON CITY — To commemorate its historic 150-year anniversary, V&T Railway has introduced special anniversary trains running every Friday through the end of the season.
