National and local bands converged on Bowers Mansion Saturday during the 34th annual Bowers Mansion Bluegrass Festival.

Attendees by the hundreds set up low-backed chairs, picnic blankets or simply laid down on the grass as an enticing lineup of bands took the stage.

Classic cars of all makes and models filled Fuji Park Saturday during the sixth annual Send a Scout to Camp Car Show in Carson City.

Vintage cars and trucks lined up alongside each other while participants strolled around the park and soaked in the warm summer sun.

A collection of hidden treasures made its way to the Fuji Park Exhibit in Carson City on Saturday during the Flying Pig Indoor Flea Market.

Several friendly vendors sold dozens of unique items, including antiques, collectibles, plants, jewelry, beauty products and lots of hand crafted items.

Recently, the Foundation was the recipient of a $20,000 matching grant from the Robert Z. Hawkins Foundation to continue to refresh the Bob Boldrick Theater lobby within the community center that started in February allowing then Chamber Chairman of the Board Bob Fredlund to present the Foundation with a check for $20,300.

From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday Carson City’s Petsmart next to Lowe’s is hosting a “Clear the Shelter” carnival-themed adoption and fundraiser event.

“It’s our first year joining the event,” said Petsmart Manager Rachel Garcia. “We have several different shelters here along with food, face painting, and more.”
