Gardnerville man identified in Saturday's fatal pedestrian hit and run
A 21-year-old Gardnerville man has been identified as the pedestrian struck and killed in a hit and run crash that happened early Saturday morning in the Johnson Lane area of Douglas County, authorities said Monday.
Roberto Palomar-Espinoza died from injuries after being hit by a vehicle on Fremont Avenue south of Johnson Lane in Minden, said Douglas County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Bernadette Smith.
The incident was reported at around 5 a.m. Saturday. Upon arrival, deputies located Palomar-Espinoza in the roadway with significant physical trauma after being struck by a vehicle.
The investigation is ongoing. Nevada Highway Patrol and Douglas County Sheriff’s Office wish to speak to any witnesses or anyone who knows information about this crime.
