The Carson City Sheriff’s Office Investigation Division is asking for help in identifying a suspect in a vehicle burglary and a credit card fraud investigation.

CARSON CITY – The Division of Insurance is warning Nevada consumers to be on the lookout for flood-damaged vehicles when considering purchasing a car in Nevada. Even though it has been several months since Hurricanes Irma and Harvey devastated Texas and Florida, there were thousands of vehicles that were damaged in the two storms. Some of these vehicles may be making their way to Nevada.

“Peanutcracker – The Story In A Nutshell,” is a kid-sized version of the holiday classic, “The Nutcracker,” told in 45-minutes by 50 local school school children. Performed by Sierra Nevada Ballet, there will be performances Friday and Saturday at the Carson City Community Center.

UPDATE 3:08PM: The following is a statement from Carson City School District Superintendent Richard Stokes regarding the passing of Timothy Jones.
“Our hearts ache for all the families and individuals involved in the car accident in Kings Canyon. We learned yesterday from law enforcement that one of our students passed away. Throughout the day today, the administration at Carson High School has provided and will continue to provide, as needed this week, grief counseling and support for students and staff. As more is learned about a memorial service, we will pass that information along.”

Family members confirmed via social media Sunday that 16-year-old Carson High School student Timothy Jones, one of seven students involved in a Nov. 9 crash on Kings Canyon, has died.

A 58-year-old transient was arrested early Saturday, 1:21 a.m. in the area of North Stewart and East Washington streets for a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant issued Nov. 21, 2017 out of Carson City Justice Court.

UPDATE 2:26PM: Carson City Fire Department and sheriff's deputies were called Saturday afternoon to an accident involving a motorcycle in the 1500 block of Airport Road.

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office asking for the public’s help locating a Fernley woman who has been reported missing and endangered.

Two were arrested Friday and face multiple felony charges including maintaining a drug house, providing drugs to a minor, possession of drugs and child endangerment, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
