Carson City Library hosts Virtual Program: Hour Of Code

YERINGTON — The Lyon County Board of Commissioners will review and potentially vote on a proposed “2nd Amendment Sanctuary County” resolution at a County Commission meeting later this month.

CARSON CITY — Carson Tahoe Health’s Board of Directors appointed Alan Garrett as the new Chief Executive Officer effective April 1, 2019, replacing Ed Epperson who retired Dec. 31, 2018. A seasoned healthcare executive with diverse experience and a progressive leadership style, Garrett will assume day-to-day control of the Carson Tahoe Health system.

Another storm system will move its way into the region Tuesday, bringing rain and gusty winds to Carson City and lower valley regions and heavy, wet snow to the Sierra through Thursday and possibly beyond, according to the National Weather Service.

UPDATE: 10:46AM: Carson City fire officials report that the flames on the roof just above the TiAmo sign have been knocked down and the fire alarm turned off.
Building occupants are being let back inside. The fire department is still on scene investigating the fire's cause.

The Carson City Fire Department has been dispatched to Casino Fandango, 3800 S. Carson Street, for a structure fire visible next to the TiAmo sign on the north side of the building.

The business has been evacuated while firefighters address the fire.

Residents of Carson City and surrounding communities are waking up Saturday morning to a rain and snow mix with temperatures in the 30s.

We can expect wet conditions throughout the weekend, the National Weather Service (NWS) in Reno reports, with 100 percent chance of showers Saturday and a high temperature into the mid-40s.

Evan Lieberman was 19 years old, home from college to work a summer job and a passenger in a car one morning in New York in 2011 when the driver crossed a double yellow line, hit another vehicle and caused injuries that led to his death a month later.
