Senator Square: Librarian, retired teacher collaborate for Carson High School archival project

The following is a story collaboration by retired Carson High School Language Arts and Journalism teacher Patt Quinn-Davis and CHS Librarian and Media Specialist Ananda Campbell.

Meander through a Carson High School yearbook from the 1930s or ’50s or ’70s, and read the graduates — Paul Laxalt, a Nevada governor and senator; Bob Crowell, a popular Carson City mayor; Lisa Schuette, Carson City supervisor; Grace Bordewich, well-loved and admired teacher; Ken Furlong, Carson City sheriff.

Carson City's Derrick Johnson wins Northern Nevada Masters Youth bowling tournament

Carson City's Derrick Johnson defeated Shane Shook 224-168 to become the champion at the Northern Nevada Masters youth tournament last Sunday, January 23. The tournament was held at Carson Lanes and was sponsored by the Carson Country U.S. Bowling Congress Association.
