SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. — Parking in the Stateline area of South Lake Tahoe has always been an issue - too many cars and not enough parking spaces. Since redevelopment brought the Heavenly Village, the gondola, and other new additions including the Chateau building over the last two decades, drivers are constantly searching the area for legal spaces to park.

December unemployment drops slightly in Carson City, Reno and Las Vegas

Unemployment in Carson City was down slightly in December to 3.2 percent, according to figures released Monday from the Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation. In November the capital city's unemployment rate was 3.3 percent.

Green business is good business, with more entrepreneurs, industry and tech leaders looking to make cost-effective changes that not only saves them money, but are ultimately good for the environment.
Nevada Green Business Network — through a partnership with Western Nevada College and greenUP! — notes 30 businesses that were certified green for the state of Nevada in 2021, and that there are 70 other businesses in the process of becoming green certified for the state.

The next Carson City School District School Board meeting will take place tonight, Tuesday Jan. 25 beginning at 7 p.m. at the Robert ‘Bob’ Crowell Board Room within the Carson City Community Center.
Items up for discussion at the school board include aggression, interpersonal relationship reports, approval of budget corrections, and more.
The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee

Set in a high school gym and hosted, for the ninth year, by a former Putnam County Spelling Bee winner, Rona Lisa Peretti (Jenn Heim), this year’s contest features Vice Principal Douglas Panch (Cameron Tolbert), a charm-challenged administrator of definitions and word pronouncer. Contestants include last year’s winner, Chip Tolentino (Zephyr Delgado), and a newcomer to the event, Olive Ostrovsky (Athena), who does not have money for the entrance fee. Other entrants fill a typical adolescent scope of the peculiar, the belligerent, and the withdrawn.
