
A 48-year-old man was arrested early Thursday for suspicion of misdemeanor DUI drugs, speeding and driving with a suspended license, a Carson City sheriff’s report states.
According to the booking report, a deputy observed a vehicle speeding in the area of North Carson Street. The officer caught up to the vehicle, which reached the speed of 45 mph and observed the vehicle brake and then turn into a motel in the 1700 block of North Carson.
The deputy made contact with the driver and could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. The driver’s speech was slurred when the officer spoke with him. The deputy asked if he had consumed any marijuana that evening as he was able to smell a strong odor coming from the car. The man stated he had not consumed any marijuana. He stated he had last smoked marijuana the morning prior. He also stated he had an old marijuana cigarette blunt in the ashtray, the report states.
The officer asked if he would be willing to participate in standardized field sobriety tests. He stated he would participate and exited the vehicle, the report states. The driver showed signs of impairment and was placed into custody for suspicion of DUI drugs. He was booked into jail for the suspected offense, as well for suspicion of of speeding and driving on a suspended license. Bail: $1,545.

— A 24-year-old Angels Camp, Calif. man, Christopher Ryan Croy, who is an inmate at Carson City Jail, was booked Wednesday for two felony fugitive from justice warrants out of Calaveras County, Calif. The man was advised the warrants did not carry bails.
— A 39-year-old Carson City man was arrested Wednesday for a misdemeanor failure to appear bench warrant and for suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to the arrest report, deputies responded to a possible court violation call. The man was located behind the residence. Dispatch advised he had a confirmed bench warrant out of Carson City Justice Court for failure to appear, according to the arrest report.
He was taken into custody. During a search the deputy located two hollowed out straws with a crystal-like residue of suspected methamphetamine residue inside. Also located in his pockets was broken glass shards that had burn marks with suspected methamphetamine residue. Bail: $1,637.
