Nevada Day, Inc. and the Nevada Day Parade could not run without our volunteers. People giving of their time and energy are the backbone our this event and we can’t thank them enough!
What are your interests and abilities? What would you like to do? Here are some of the positions we are looking to fill.
Parade Marshals: One of the most important positions on parade day. You will meet the parade entries as they arrive (floats, car clubs, marching bands, etc.) and make sure they get their numbers attached on the front of their entry. Then you make sure they are lined up in order and when it’s time, you walk the parade with your division to be sure that all goes well. You are equipped with a backpack full of items that we have found necessary for parade lineups to go smoothly, and you let the Parade Director know if any do not show up. You wear an yellow vest so people come to you for information and you have the answers! Interested? Just sign up below.
Gift Shop and Vendor Clerks: These volunteers are busy in the store and as nevada day vendors on parade day. We sell Nevada souvenirs and proceeds from store sales help to fund the Nevada Day Parade. If you have a few hours to give, we’d love to have you help in the store or at our pop up booth. Come by and see us at the Nevada Gift Shop, 1013 S. Carson St, from 11:00 to 3:00 weekdays, or just sign up below.
Clean-Up Crew: These friends of the parade come out the day after the parade. We meet at 8:00 AM, Sunday Morning at McFadden Plaza and walk around downtown picking up trash. We provide gloves, bags and tee shirts for the event which is really quite fun! Usually we have local groups that help out as well. If you don’t mind getting a little dirty for Nevada Day, sign up below.
Parade Day Helper: There is always something that needs to be done like set up/take down chairs, pass out sandwiches, hold a parking space, etc. We never know what we may need and it always helps to have a helper around just in case. If you wouldn’t mind generally helping out where help is needed on parade day, sign up below.
