Carson City Library Summer Reading Kick Off Party

The Carson City Library invites the community to launch a summer of reading, adventure, and imagination at the Wander Beyond Words Summer Reading Challenge Kick Off Party on Saturday, June 13, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
This free, family-friendly event will transform the library into a fantasy-inspired celebration featuring games, crafts, activities, and opportunities to sign up for the Summer Reading Challenge. Readers of all ages are encouraged to participate and begin earning prizes for reading throughout the summer.
Kick Off Party activities will include a pancake breakfast, dragon egg distribution, hands-on crafts, fantasy-themed games, and information about the library’s summer programs and events. Attendees can also learn how to participate in the Summer Reading Challenge and explore the many ways to earn prizes, badges, and rewards throughout the summer.
The 2026 Summer Reading Challenge, Wander Beyond Words, runs from June 13 through August 15 and encourages readers of all ages to discover new stories, attend library programs, and build a lifelong love of reading.
The Kick Off Party is free and open to the public. No registration is required.
