Chocolate Nugget Candy Factory is proud to announce the recipient of its first annual Sweet Futures Scholarship, a new educational support program created to invest in hardworking students pursuing higher education.
This year’s scholarship has been awarded to Violet Foley, a dedicated student employee who is currently pursuing a degree in nursing while balancing work and academics.
The Sweet Futures Scholarship was created to help offset college expenses for students who demonstrate strong work ethic, commitment, and passion for their future goals. In addition to student employees, graduating seniors and college students from the Mound House and Washoe Valley communities are encouraged to apply in future years.
“For nearly 90 years, Chocolate Nugget Candy Factory has believed in supporting the community and investing in future generations,” said Cesar Acosta, CEO of Chocolate Nugget Candy Factory. “Violet represents exactly what this scholarship stands for — dedication, perseverance, and ambition. We are proud to support her as she continues her journey toward becoming a nurse.”
Founded in 1936, Chocolate Nugget Candy Factory has become one of Nevada’s most recognized candy makers, known for handcrafted chocolates, peanut brittle, and confections made without preservatives or artificial colors.
The company hopes the Sweet Futures Scholarship will continue to grow annually and provide opportunities for students throughout Northern Nevada pursuing higher education and career development.
