UPDATE 12:50AM: Both Care Flight helicopters have lifted from the scene carrying two critically injured patients to Renown Medical Center in Reno. Two others have been taken by ground ambulance.
The cause of the crash is under investigation. Westbound traffic has been opened. Eastbound traffic remains closed at Deer Run Road.

UPDATE 12:34AM: A third Care Flight helicopter, which was coming from Fallon, has been canceled. The critically injured patient will be taken by ambulance to Renown Medical Center in Reno. Two helicopters are on the way.

Carson City Fire Department, sheriff’s deputies and the Nevada Highway Patrol were called tonight to the area of Highway 50 and Flint Drive in east Carson City for a multi-vehicle crash in which several people have been injured.
The crash was reported at 11:47 p.m. Three Care Flight helicopters have been ordered for three people who are critically injured. Other rescue ambulances were called to the scene. All injured have been removed from the vehicles via extrication.
According to fire personnel via dispatch, there are four injured, three critically.
The Care Flight helicopters will land at the crash site, which is in the eastbound lane. Eastbound traffic is closed at Deer Run Road.
Motorists are advised to stay clear of the area.
