The Nevada Treasury announced the winners of its fourth annual “What Do You Want to Be When You Grow Up” art contest, including students from northern and southern Nevada. The contest was open to pre-K to 12th grade students from August 12 to October 13, encouraging all to use their artistic talents to create original artwork depicting what they want to be when they grow up.

“We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the talented winners of our Art Contest. Their creativity and hard work highlight the bright futures that lie ahead, and we are honored to support their educational journeys,” said Dr. Tya Mathis-Coleman, Deputy Treasurer of College Savings at the Nevada Treasury. “Post-secondary education is a significant investment. As these students receive funds toward their 529 college savings plans, we hope they continue to dream, create, and explore future careers.”

First, second and third place winners from all grade levels, along with their families and schools, will be honored at a private reception on December 18 at The Windmill Library from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Students’ artwork is currently on display now through February 18, 2025.

Top award winners will be recognized by The Nevada Treasury for their outstanding work. First place winners will be awarded $1,000, second place winners will be awarded $500, and third place winners will be awarded $250. All prize money will be awarded in the form of a 529 college savings account.
