UPDATE 1:12PM: Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong reports there’s been one fatality in Friday’s structure fire in the 1500 block of Rolling Hills Drive. Two people have been taken to the hospital. The fire has been knocked down. Fire investigators have been called to the scene as well as a coroner.

Carson City Fire Department and sheriff’s deputies responded Friday afternoon to a structure fire in the 1500 block of Rolling Hill Drive.
Called into dispatch at 12:35 p.m., the reporting party advised black smoke was coming from a residence, and that one person at the residence is possibly disabled and was inside.
A Carson City Sheriff’s Office deputy arriving on scene reports heavy smoke in the residence and one person reportedly inside.
Carson City Fire Department firefighters gained access into the residence and advised there was possibly a second person inside the home. It is unknown at this time how many people were inside the home. At 1:04 p.m. one person was reportedly being taken to the hospital via ground ambulance.
Motorists should stay clear of the area. We will update as information becomes available.
Meanwhile, CCFD was also called to a brush fire near the Goni area. The call came in at 12:45 p.m.
The fire is producing flames, and is said to be a mile up in the foothills.
