Hello, Carson City! Let’s talk a little about the Midterm Elections, and then we’ll get to the updates.
The election results will continue to update as more ballots are received, which is why the results continue to update. Local election workers aren’t taking their time, or struggling under loads of ballots.
No, the reason ballots continue to be counted is because, by state law, so long as a mail-in ballot is postmarked by Election Day (Nov. 8), it must be counted, and they will be accepted up to four days after the Election Day.
The first election results were made up of in-person, Election Day ballots. Afterwards they were updated with results from Early voting and some mail-in ballots as well.
Mail-in ballots will continue to be counted and results will continue to be updated until certification on Nov. 18.
Results are updated as of 3:45 p.m. on Friday. We will continue to update as the results come in.
These results are for Carson City only. For the full statewide election results, please click here.
