UPDATE 7:21 a.m. The small brush fire has been knocked down and fire units have been released. The 1 foot by 1 foot fire was some trash that had been burned underneath an NV Energy power pole, a CCFD battalion chief said.

Carson City Fire Department and sheriff’s deputies responded Sunday morning to a brush fire in the 5900 block of Highway 50 East.
The fire was reported shortly before 7 a.m. Multiple units were responding. It is unknown at this time if there are any structures threatened. We will update as more information becomes available.
