UPDATE: A magnitude 4.1 earthquake centered 11 miles southeast of Silver Springs in Lyon County shook the area late Sunday morning.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the 11:22 a.m. earthquake was at a depth of 3.7 miles or 6 kilometers. The quake was followed by nearly two dozen aftershocks ranging from 2.6 magnitude to 1.6 magnitude, according to the Nevada Seismological Laboratory. The quake originally was recorded as a 4.0. USGS has since upgraded it to 4.1 and changed the depth estimate.

The latest quake is among a series of recent shakers that began April 13, with a magnitude 5.7. This month there was a 5.2 magnitude earthquake May 1 and a 3.5 on May 2. There has been a swarm of hundreds of smaller earthquakes since April 13.

Sunday’s earthquake was felt by several people in the Silver Springs and Stagecoach areas, according to social media. There’s no immediate reports of damage.
