A 52-year-old man was arrested Saturday for suspicion of felony battery with a deadly weapon after allegedly stabbing the victim in the leg near a parking lot pharmacy drive-thru, according to a Carson City Sheriff’s Office booking report.
Jose Weston Ramirez was taken into custody following an investigation. According to the booking report, deputies were called at 9:11 p.m. to the 3200 block of Market Street for a report of a battery with a deadly weapon. The male victim had been stabbed outside in a parking lot near the Walmart pharmacy drive-thru.
Deputies located the victim with a stab wound to the right thigh. The victim had blood on his leg, shoes, shorts and pants. Deputies searched for the suspect after getting a description and located suspect Ramirez at the corner of Roop and Retail.
Deputies interviewed the victim and learned that he was talking to a man named Joe, who was determined to be the suspect, near the parking lot when a random guy walked by and called the man a “chomo,” the report states.
The victim asked the man, Joe, if he was a child molester. The victim said the suspect then pulled out a silver knife and stabbed him. He stated he was unsure what had happened and then looked down and saw a large amount of blood coming from his leg. He stated he did not know the suspect. He was taken to the hospital, according to the report. The victim’s injury was not life threatening.
Deputies interviewed the suspect and advised him of his Miranda rights. The suspect chose to speak. He was observed to be highly intoxicated by the way he was speaking. He consented to a preliminary breath test with a result of .323, the report states.
A deputy asked him to explain what happened. He said he was in the parking lot area of Walmart and was talking to the victim. He stated he and the victim got into an argument about music when he was placed into a chokehold by the man, the report states. He said he couldn’t breath and defended himself by stabbing the man in the leg.
The deputy asked if he knew who victim was. The suspect denied knowing the victim. A silver knife was located in the suspect’s right pocket, the report states.
The suspect was arrested for suspicion of battery with a deadly weapon motivated by bias or hatred toward the victim. The suspect was taken to the hospital due to the high alcohol content from the preliminary breath test. He was medically cleared and taken to jail. Bail: $20,000.

— A 29-year-old Stagecoach man, Cody Trumpeter, was booked June 28 into Carson City Jail for a felony warrant alleging assault with a deadly weapon. The warrant was issued May 15, 2026 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $25,000.
— A 32-year-old Dayton man was arrested June 27 for a misdemeanor warrant alleging destroying property of another. Bail: $500.
— A 45-year-old woman was arrested June 27, 8:05 a.m. for suspicion of DUI. According to the booking report, deputies were called to the area of Rhodes and South Carson Street for an unknown injury crash.
Deputies arrived and observed a vehicle facing northbound on the southbound traffic side that had crashed into a rock wall. The reporting party was standing outside the crash while the driver was still inside the vehicle, the report states.
A deputy made contact with the driver and asked if she was injured and needed medical attention. She informed the deputy she was okay and declined medical treatment. The deputy asked how she crashed and got from the left side of the road all the way to the right side of the road on the opposite side of traffic. The driver said she dropped her glasses while driving, tried to grab them and ended up crashing, the report states.
The deputy’s report notes that she told another deputy that she was in the number 2 lane heading north on Carson Street.
The deputy asked the woman if she had been drinking alcohol recently. She said she had a few drink the prior night. The deputy asked if she would perform standardized field sobriety tests. She agreed and showed signs of impairment.
She advised she had three white claw alcoholic drinks the night prior and takes Zoloft for depression. She consented to a preliminary breath test with a result of .000. However, due to the fact that she drove from the number 2 lane going northbound all the way across the street, passing by the southbound road where other cars have been crashed into, then hitting a rock wall, the deputy arrested her for suspicion of driving under the influence for being unable to drive safely on the road and putting others in danger, the report states.
She agreed to a blood test. Bail: $1,137.

— A 43-year-old Carson City woman was arrested June 26 for suspicion of disturbing the peace and a misdemeanor warrant for violation of conditions of a suspended sentence. Bail: $1,000 cash.
— A 28-year-old Carson City man was arrested June 27 for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
— A 40-year-old Carson City man was arrested June 28 for a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant. Bail: $5,000.
— A 34-year-old Carson City man was booked June 28 for a misdemeanor bench warrant alleging domestic battery. Bail: $3,000.
— A 43-year-old Carson City man was booked into jail for a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant for possession of a controlled substance. Bail: $6,000 cash.
— A 54-year-old Carson City man was booked for a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant. Bail: $3,000 cash.
— A 40-year-old Carson City man was booked June 28 for two misdemeanor violation of condition warrants. Bail: $2,000 cash.
— A 35-year-old Carson City man was arrested June 28 for suspicion of DUI. According to the booking report, deputies were called to the area of Woodside Drive and Monte Rosa for a report of a vehicle that drove into a fence and attempted to leave.
The driver was located and deputies spoke with him. Deputies could smell an odor of alcohol coming from the vehicle. The driver agreed to perform field sobriety tests. He provided a preliminary breath test of .159 and was arrested for suspicion of DUI. At jail he consented to a blood test. Bail: $1,137.
— A 52-year-old South Lake Tahoe man was arrested June 26 for a misdemeanor violation of a temporary protection order out of El Dorado County.
According to the booking report, during a traffic stop a deputy ran the name of the man, and learned he had a current protection order in which the adverse party is the protected party. The protected party was in the vehicle with him.
He was booked for violation of the protection order, a misdemeanor offense. Bail: $3,000.
— A 47-year-old Carson City man was arrested June 26 for warrants alleging possessing a vehicle without owner consent, domestic battery and contempt of court. Bail: $6,000 cash.
— A 55-year-old Verdi man was arrested June 28 for a misdemeanor warrant alleging battery. Bail: $3,000.
