Just after 12 a.m. Friday, another earthquake was felt throughout the region — one of hundreds that have been shaking the Sierras originating from the Silver Springs area over the last few weeks.

Six earthquakes have originated from the Silver Springs area in the last 24 hours alone alone, including last night’s 5.2 magnitude quake

Early Friday morning’s earthquake racked up a 5.2 magnitude measurement by the USGS Seismology Lab, placing itself on the “significant” list of recent earthquakes worldwide.

This is the third quake to top the list — the highest magnitude incident occurring April 13 with a 5.7 measurement, along with April 22’s 4.8 magnitude quake.

A whopping 459 quakes from the area are listed by the USGS, but only around 45 of those have been at a 3.0 magnitude or higher, and only 7 at a 4.0 or higher.

So, readers, tell us: did you feel it? Let us know in the comments!
