The Foundation for Carson City Parks & Recreation, in partnership with the Carson City Parks, Recreation & Open Space Department, is hosting the inaugural FORE! The Kids Golf Tournament on Friday, October 16, at Eagle Valley Golf Course – East.
This four-person scramble format is a fundraiser intended to directly benefit local youth recreation programs in the capital city. The goal is to reduce barriers for participation and encourage safe opportunities for personal growth and healthy lifestyles through recreation.
The Carson City Parks, Recreation & Open Space Department hosts several youth recreation programs throughout the year, including Shred Kids Teen Ski/Snowboard, Third Grade Swimming Lessons, Music and Art Tot Time, Meet the Orchestra, kayaking, gardening, fishing programs, and more. Providing free or low-cost opportunities for youth increases the chances of kids growing up healthy and confident, building friendships, developing beneficial life and vocational skills, encouraging kindness towards others, respect for the outdoors, and more, no matter their ability, age, family income, or background.
The community is invited to support the Foundation for Carson City Parks & Recreation by participating in or sponsoring the FORE! The Kids Golf Tournament. This fundraiser, with an emphasis on FUN, will feature food, drinks, a 50/50 raffle, a $10,000 hole-in-one prize, and other fun activities! Hole Sponsors and Event Sponsors will have the opportunity to participate in the tournament, have their name on any future promotional materials, and even set up their own booth on their sponsored hole!
