The First Judicial Court Felony DUI Program is pleased to announce it has received $60,906.25 in grant funding for the 2026-2027 fiscal year from the Nevada Department of Public Safety’s Office of Traffic Safety.
The DUI Court program operates out of the Carson City Department of Alternative Sentencing and provides an alternative to prison for felony DUI defendants. The three-to-five-year program has 100 graduates in its 17-year history and is proud to contribute to the safety of Nevada highways and roads.
Funding from this grant will help maintain the dedicated Case Manager that oversees those placed into the DUI diversion program, and the Risk and Needs Triage (RANT) assessment to appropriately categorize those in the program by their level of need.
The innovative DUI Court program goes beyond traditional consequences and is committed to working with the felony drunk driving offenders by providing long-term treatment, ongoing accountability and a high level of supervision.
The DUI court program is looking forward to continuing its support of the missions of the Carson City Department of Alternative Sentencing and the Nevada Department of Public Safety’s office of Traffic Safety; to promote public safety by holding criminal offenders accountable to the community and by providing an environment for growth and rehabilitation.
