The Nevada State Prison Preservation Society (NSPPS) announces its 2026 tour season, starting on May 2, 2026. This is the year that will make even long-time visitors see one of the West’s most legendary landmarks in a whole new light. From amateur boxing matches to outdoor movies, murder mystery dinners, paranormal investigations, and haunts so terrifying they’ll redefine your idea of a good time. All inside Carson City’s nationally recognized historic site: the Nevada State Prison.
“This is our biggest season yet, and we’ve worked hard to make it one that visitors both young and old will never forget,” said Lucia Maloney, General Manager of NSPPS. “Whether you’re a history buff, a thrill-seeker, or just looking for a truly unique Nevada experience, the Nevada State Prison has something for everyone.”

There’s nothing else like walking Nevada State Prison’s storied halls. Guided historic tours run every Saturday from May through October, putting you face-to-face with the remarkable, complex, and utterly captivating story of one of the oldest correctional facilities in the American West. Note: No guided tours on June 6, July 4, September 19, or October 31 due to Holiday Closures and Special Events (see below).
