Carson City area casinos experienced a 4.5 percent decrease in gaming earnings for the month of March compared to a year ago, according to figures released Thursday by the Nevada Gaming Control Board.

Casinos in Carson City, Carson Vally and other areas of Douglas County except for Stateline, took in gaming revenue, also called “gaming win” of $8,226,125.

Lake Tahoe casinos on the north and south shores saw revenue increases for the month. At Stateline on Tahoe’s south shore, casino revenue climbed by 23.19 percent for the month, the best of all of Nevada’s gaming regions.

On the north shore, casino revenue was up 6.22 percent, according to the Nevada gaming board.

Statewide, Nevada’s nonrestricted gaming licensees reported a total “gaming win” of $922,272,002 for the month of March 2016. This amounts to a 3.04 percent decrease compared to March 2015.

For the fiscal year, July 1, 2015 through March 31, 2016, statewide gaming win has increased 1 percent.
