A 26-year-old Carson City man was booked into jail Wednesday on a felony warrant alleging possession of schedule I, II, III and IV controlled substances, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
Christopher Bennett was booked into jail 9 p.m. The warrant was issued March 24, 2017 out of Carson City Drug Court. He’s being held without bail in lieu of a hearing.
— A 40-year-old transient, Ginnie Heidt, was booked into Carson City Jail Wednesday on a felony DUI Diversion Court warrant issued Jan. 4, 2017. She’s being held without bail in lieu of a hearing.
— A 30-year-old Carson City woman was booked into Carson City Jail on Wednesday, 9 p.m. for a misdemeanor probation violation warrant issued April 12, 2017 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $3,000.
— A 48-year-old Reno man was booked into Carson City Jail on Wednesday, 5 p.m. for a misdemeanor failure to appear warrant issued May 23, 2016 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $855.
— A 27-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday, 11:41 p.m. in the area of College Parkway and Retail Drive for a misdemeanor failure to appear warrant. The man was stopped and also cited for a defective headlamp when the failure to appear warrant issued April 7, was confirmed. Bail: $1,182.
— A 19-year-old Carson City man, Tylor Lee Garringer, was arrested Thursday, 4:37 p.m. in the area of Curry and John streets for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, cocaine, and a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant.
According to the arrest report, an officer initiated a traffic stop on a blue Mercury Tracer after a license plate check came back with a warrant attached to it for Garringer.
The man was arrested for the warrant. While in the search area of the jail, a deputy found a clear baggie with a white substance inside his wallet. The man was read his Miranda warning in which he stated he understood and agreed to talk. He stated the white substance in the baggie was cocaine. Bail: $3,000.
— An 18-year-old Carson City man, Tyler David Mackay, was arrested Thursday, 8:40 a.m. at Carson High School for allegedly being in possession of LSD and marijuana, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
According to the booking report, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy assigned as a school resource officer was approached by the Carson High School dean of students and the vice principal regarding a student who had drugs on campus.
The vice principal had searched the student’s bag and found what the student said was marijuana and LSD, according to the arrest report. The sheriff’s deputy read him his Miranda rights and the student agreed to speak with the officer and confirmed both items were indeed drugs, two small baggies of marijuana and a square LSD.
The student did not give the officer any names of who sold him the items that he had in his possession on campus, the arrest report states. Bail: $3,237.
— An 18-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday, 7:47 p.m. at Centennial Park for suspicion of violation of bail conditions and minor consuming alcohol, both misdemeanors. According to the arrest report, deputies were called to the park tennis courts for a report of a drunk driver attempting to leave the area.
A deputy arrived on scene and met with the man who was slouched over the middle section of his truck in the driver’s seat. The officer woke up the man and observed a large amount of vomit on the driver side of the vehicle.
The officer could smell and odor of alcohol on the man’s breath and he had slurred speech. He was asked how much he had to drink and he told the deputy a lot, the report states. He attempted to get out of his vehicle and nearly fell over, the arrest report states. The man then began to vomit again while he was speaking with the officer.
The deputy asked the man when his birthday was and the man told the officer “f*** you,” the arrest report states. The officer asked the man a couple more times what his birthday was and the man finally told him the date, the report states.
He became uncooperative with other deputies on scene, yelling vulgar language at all of them, the arrest report states. Officers learned the man was on Alternative Sentencing. The agency informed the deputy to arrest the man for violation of bail conditions. He was taken to the hospital where he was medically cleared, and yelled vulgar remarks at hospital staff. He was then transferred to jail deputies. Bail: $3,242.
— A 39-year-old Reno man was arrested Friday, 1:48 a.m. in the 3800 block of Highway 50 East for misdemeanor suspicion of DUI. According to the arrest report, a deputy observed a vehicle driving slowly westbound on Highway 50, 42 mph in a 55 mph zone. The officer followed the vehicle, where it then turned around and drove eastbound on Highway 50 going 25 mph in a 45 mph zone.
The deputy conducted a traffic stop. The man identified himself with his license. The officer could smell a moderate odor of alcohol on the man’s breath. He was asked if he had been consuming alcohol.
The man told the officer he drank three beers over three hours ago, the arrest report states. The officer asked the man if he would be willing to participate in standardized field sobriety tests. The man said he didn’t feel comfortable performing the tests since he had been consuming alcohol earlier.
After a short time, he volunteered to perform the tests. He showed clues of impairment on the tests and then told the officer he no longer felt comfortable completing them. He agreed to provide a preliminary breath test with a result of .140, the arrest report states. He was arrested for suspicion of DUI. At jail he agreed to two evidentiary breath samples, with results of .100 and .92. Bail: $1,137.
