As the Carson High School Speech and Debate team concluded a successful and busy season, they celebrated seven students qualifying for the National Tournament in Des Moines, Iowa.
These students have a once in a lifetime opportunity to network with other competitors, hear from impactful speakers, and represent Carson City on the national level. The following students qualified and will be competing for a spot on the final stage in June:
- Kaden Sa and Chelsea Empeno – Duo Interpretation
- Claire Dillon and Lillian Barker – Duo Interpretation
- Thomas Lance – Foreign Extemporaneous Speaking
- Alexis Ropp – Lincoln Douglas Debate
- Summer McGill – Senate
The team will spend a week competing against the best of the best, learning about presentation, and making lasting memories. To provide this opportunity to seven students, the qualifiers have already been hard at work with their fundraising efforts. You can support the team through their upcoming fundraisers:
