Sonoma Park will be closed from March 30 to April 13 for seasonal maintenance, including renovating the turf, addressing irrigation issues, and finishing concrete work along the new pathway on the east side of the park.
During the temporary closure, City staff will be performing turf rehabilitation throughout the park. This includes aerifying, overseeding, and fertilizing the turf to help it recover from heavy usage.
Park staff will also perform an irrigation evaluation to assess the system’s performance.
Residents are advised that irrigation will be used at irregular hours throughout the day to complete this work.
Additionally, Public Works will be finishing concrete work along the new pathway on the east side of the park.
Residents are further advised that heavy equipment may be on-site to perform certain work. For the safety of the staff, the public, and their pets, the park must remain closed during the work.
