A 36-year-old Carson City Jail inmate was ad-booked for 300 counts of contempt of court with a $900,000 bail after allegedly calling the victim in his domestic violence case over 300 times despite a no-contact order being in place since December 2025.

According to the arrest report, the Jail Watch Commander informed deputies that the inmate was possibly calling the victim in violation of his court order.

Deputies began investigating and determined that the man had made 261 completed calls to the victim, 112 unanswered calls, and left 39 voicemails.

The report stated that there were 21 other times that the inmate used another inmate’s account to make a phone call to the victim.

The reporting deputy said they listened to the 300 phone calls, and stated they were “very familiar” with the inmate from their time at the Carson City Sheriff’s Office, and “instantly recognized” his voice on the recorded phone calls.

The reporting deputy wrote that he conducted an interview with the inmate, in which the man told deputies that he hadn’t spoken with the victim since his February 17, 2026 court date in which his attorney had advised him not to call her further.

The man then invoked his Miranda Rights, and the reporting deputy stopped the interview and escorted him back to the jail.

The deputy stated that throughout the phone calls, the dialogue and tone used between the man and the victim was one of friendship and intimacy in which they would tell each other how much they loved each other, adding that it was “not a tone one would use with their child, but rather someone they were in a relationship with,” implying the deputy believed that the phone calls were being made to and from the victim as opposed to someone else in their household.

Yerington man arrested for allegedly shooting from backseat of vehicle, claims he believed victim was attempting to run them off the road

A 50-year-old Yerington man was arrested in the area of N. Carson Street and Adaline Wednesday afternoon for felony assault with a deadly weapon and felony discharging a firearm from a vehicle.

According to the arrest report, Daniel Ragan was arrested after deputies were dispatched to a report of shots fired at 1600 Medical Parkway.

While en route, dispatch advised the suspect was last seen heading southbound on N. Carson Street.

The reporting deputy said just as dispatch gave the description of the vehicle, it drove past them, and they initiated a traffic stop.

According to the report, as the occupants of the vehicle were being removed, Ragan was in the backseat “saying he was sorry and that he was the one we were looking for.”

Ragan told deputies he believed the driver of the car he had fired at was “intending to run his [family member driving their vehicle] off the road.” He told deputies he had grabbed the gun and brought it out the window, although he said that he “pointed the gun in the air before accidentally discharging the firearm.”

However, the victim stated that Ragan had fired into his vehicle, not in the air, and a photo of the bullet hole in the vehicle was provided.

Ragan was taken into custody without issue.

Schurz woman arrested for allegedly causing crash while intoxicated; admitted to taking four shots in a Dollar Store parking lot

A 36-year-old Schurz woman was arrested in the 1000 block S. Carson Street for DUI first and driving with a revoked license after allegedly causing an injury crash in which she was reportedly stuck inside her car due to damage to the vehicle’s body.

According to the arrest report, deputies spoke with the second driver who said they had been driving north on S. Carson Street when the woman’s vehicle pulled out from the parking lot in front of them, causing them to crash into their vehicle.

Deputies spoke to the woman and noted she had the smell of an unknown alcoholic beverage coming from her person along with red watery eyes. She agreed to a field sobriety test, and told deputies she’d had nothing to drink but that she had smoked cannabis the day before around noon.

According to the report, the woman demonstrated several clues of impairment. She agreed to provide a PBT sample, which resulted in a .109% BAC.

Carson City woman with apparent mental health issues arrested for trespassing

A 35-year-old Carson City woman was arrested for trespassing and violating DAS requirements after causing a disturbance at her grandmother’s house.

According to the arrest report, the grandmother told deputies that her granddaughter had arrived around a half hour prior, and that she didn’t want her there anymore.

Deputies attempted to follow the grandmother into the home, at which point the granddaughter slammed the door in their face. The grandmother then reopened the door and gave them permission to enter.

Deputies said that they “pleaded” with the granddaughter several times to leave the premises, and “offered to take her to the hospital, Mallory Center, or the warming shelter.”

Deputies said the granddaughter refused to leave “while making several nonsensical statements constantly interrupting and going in and out of different tones of voice,” and insisted that her name was something other than her given name.

Deputies took the granddaughter into custody and booked her into the Carson City Jail for trespassing and contempt of court.

Carson City man arrested for concealed carry of a BB gun, drug possession

A 31-year-old Carson City man was arrested in the 1800 block of N. Edmonds for felony possession of a controlled substance, gross misdemeanor carrying a concealed weapon (a BB gun) without a permit, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to the report, Adam William Goodwin Epps was arrested early Thursday morning after deputies were patrolling in the area of N. Edmonds and Gordon Street around 2:30 a.m. and witnessed a vehicle pulling out of a casino parking lot. The deputies stated they watched Epps ride up to the vehicle on his bicycle, speak briefly with the driver, then reach toward the driver, and the driver “placed something” into Epps’ hands.

Epps then rode off toward the casino, and the vehicle drove away. Deputies had suspicions they’d witnessed “criminal activity” relating to narcotics.

Deputies spoke with Epps, who told deputies the person in the truck was a “friend who left him stranded there.” Deputies asked if he had any weapons, and he said he had a BB gun on his person, according to the report.

Deputies said they lifted Epps’ shirt and observed a black BB gun concealed in his waistband, which they retrieved. Epps then admitted to having “meth” in his front pocket.

He was taken into custody and transported to the jail without incident.
