A 30-year-old woman was arrested Monday for suspicion of felony domestic battery with a deadly weapon and allegedly preventing the victim from reporting a crime, according to a Carson City Sheriff’s Office booking report.

Following an investigation, Carson City sheriff’s deputies arrested Lauren Johanna Lamaster. According to the report, officers were dispatched at 4:57 p.m. for a report of a domestic dispute at a Hot Springs Road address.

Deputies arrived and spoke with a male who advised the female involved was located in the residence. The suspect then walked to the front door and invited the deputy into the residence to speak with her, the report states. She said she and the male had been verbally arguing prior to deputies arriving. She said she was upset with the man over dinner and they began to argue. The deputy asked the if incident became physical. The woman advised she and the man had only been verbally arguing, the report states.

The deputy was advised by another officer that the victim had redness and swelling on the left side of his face, around the temple and left eye. The officer advised the man said the woman had struck him with a cell phone across the face while they were arguing, according to the report.

The deputy then spoke with the victim briefly and observed redness and swelling around his eye and temple. The man told the deputy the woman hit him with a cell phone across the left side of his face around 10 minutes before law enforcement arrived.

He said the two were arguing about dinner and she hit him. He said he told the woman he was going to call 911 and advised he was unable to call 911 because the woman was trying to take his phone, the report states.

A deputy spoke with a roommate. He said he was sitting in his bedroom and was able to hear the two arguing. He said he heard some type of sound but was not sure what it was. He then said he heard the male yell and say he was calling the police. The roommate said he then heard the woman yelling at the man, telling him several times that he was not going to call the police, the report states.

The deputy went to speak with the suspect again, at which time the other officer informed them the woman admitted she did hit the man, according to the report. She said she got upset with him and hit him with a cell phone. The deputy informed her she was being placed in custody for suspicion of domestic battery until they could determine if she was the primary aggressor.

She was booked for felony domestic battery with a deadly weapon and preventing a victim from reporting a crime. Nevada Parole and Probation placed her on hold. Bail: $30,000.
