Douglas County Sheriff’s Office deputies assisted in a warrant service in Indian Hills Friday morning relating to a reported shooting that occurred in East Carson City Thursday night.
Carson residents reported hearing shots fired around 10:30 p.m. Thursday night in the area of Cochise and Pheasant, followed by a law enforcement presence.
Indian Hills residents reported seeing DCSO in tactical gear and armored vehicles earlier this morning on social media.
DCSO released the following information in a press release:
On Jan. 30, 2026, at approximately 6:20 a.m., the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team assisted the Carson City Sheriff’s Office by serving a search warrant at a residence located in the 3400 block of Indian Drive, in Douglas County.
The warrant was issued as the result of an ongoing investigation by the Carson City Sheriff’s Office of a shooting into an occupied dwelling in Carson City.
The warrant was served without incident and numerous individuals were detained at the scene and are currently being interviewed by the Carson City Sheriff’s Office.
This is an active investigation. All inquiries regarding this case should be directed to the Carson City Sheriff’s Office.
