A 26-year-old South Lake, Calif. man was arrested in the 3400 block of S. Carson Street for domestic battery (second offense), burglary of a motor vehicle, constitutional domestic violence, and intoxicated pedestrian on the roadway.

According to the arrest report, Alvaro Jesus Martinez Perez was arrested after deputies were dispatched to a South Carson Street gas station just after 7 p.m. Wednesday on a report of a domestic battery that had just occurred.

Upon arrival, deputies said they made contact with the reporting party who “appeared distraught and was peeking out of the window” when they arrived, according to the report.

Deputies said the reporting party was “having a hard time focusing” while deputies spoke with her at first, and deputies observed two men “huddled” near the door of the gas station.

The victim told deputies that Martinez Perez had hit her, and deputies said she had several bruises on her face and arms, as well as an abrasion on her upper lip. She also had redness on her left wrist.

She told deputies the bruises on her arms and face were from earlier in the day up in South Tahoe when Martinez Perez had grabbed her, and when she started crying, he’d put his hand over her mouth to “make her be quiet;” she said he had put his hands on her in the parking lot of that gas station as well.

She said during this recent incident in Carson City, Martinez Perez ran up to her car while she was in the driver’s seat and had thrown a drink at her through the window. The drink had struck her, covering her in a liquid.

She said Martinez Perez then opened the door, grabbed her by the hair, and pulled her out of the car. Deputies noted liquid on the exterior of the vehicle, as well as liquid on the interior of the vehicle, and an empty crushed “Twisted Tea” container on the floorboard of the driver’s side.

Deputies spoke with the two men by the front of the gas station who provided written statements. They said that he’d heard the horn of the victim’s car honk, and when he looked over, he saw the victim exit the vehicle and run inside the gas station.

The second man said he was checking out in the gas station when he saw the victim run inside crying. He said she showed him her arms, and he observed abrasions and bruising. She told him her boyfriend started beating her, and that he’d been drinking. The man said he spoke with the other witness and they both waited with the victim until deputies arrived.

Deputies viewed video footage from the store and witnessed a man matching Martinez Perez’s description run up to the driver’s side door and attempted to open the door “in an aggressive manner,” but it was locked.

They said they then witnessed the man, presumed to be Martinez Perez, throw the Twisted Tea through the window, reach into the window, unlock the door, and open it. The video shows the man reach into the vehicle, stand up, then reach in again, and the victim could then be seen exiting the vehicle “with her jacket pulled off of one arm hanging out and appeared disheveled,” according to the report. The man closes the driver’s door and presses on the brakes, then the video cuts off, and deputies were told the man identified as Martinez Perez fled on foot.

Additional deputies located Martinez Perez in front of another business. He was detained, and had been seen walking across South Carson Street where there was no crosswalk. He told deputies that he had gotten into an argument with the victim at the gas station, and the victim had kicked him out of her car. He said she “left him at the gas station,” but also told deputies that he walked up to the driver’s side door to talk to her, and said he believed he opened the car door.

Deputies asked if he’d been drinking, and he said he’d had a “buzz ball” and another drink that he could not remember.  When asked if it was a Twisted Tea, Martinez Perez confirmed that was the drink.

When asked about the victim, Martinez Perez told deputies he “had never been physical with her” and “expressed how much he cared for her.”

He provided a PBT which resulted in a BrAC of .166.

Deputies arrested Martinez Perez for domestic battery, second burglary of a motor vehicle that consisted of domestic violence, and intoxicated pedestrian in the roadway. Dispatch advised Martinez Perez had been previously convicted of battery on a spouse in October 2025.

He was taken into custody without incident.

Bail: $7,709
