Carson City Fire Department sent an engine and four firefighters Friday afternoon to the Palisades Fire in the Los Angeles area. It is part of an strike team from Northern Nevada and the Lake Tahoe Basin, said Carson City Fire Chief Sean Slamon.

UPDATE 5:30PM: The Nevada Governor’s Office announced Wednesday afternoon the state has deployed multiple fire agencies and other agencies statewide to help with the California wildfire situation. Here is the latest list of fire agencies responding:

UPDATE 2:45PM: Two more strike teams are being sent to the Los Angeles fires, Carson City Fire Department has one strike team leader that is part of one of the strike teams, said CCFD Chief Sean Slamon. Northern Nevada and Lake Tahoe fire agencies are responding to the massive wildfires engulfing the LA area.
As of Wednesday there are four fires in Los Angeles County and one fire in Riverside County burning, the largest being the Palisades and Eaton fires.
A number of firefighters from around the region have been sent to the fires, including Central Lyon Fire, Truckee Meadows, North Lake Tahoe, Lake Valley Fire and South Lake Tahoe Fire and Rescue, Fallen Leaf Fire. Fire officials said they were responding to the Eaton Fire.
On Wednesday afternoon, Reno Fire Department sent two brush trucks to Southern California with eight personnel to assist on all the fires, according to Reno Firefighters Association.
The latest information from a meeting of South Lake Tahoe emergency personnel Wednesday morning is there are at least 22 firefighters that make up five engines with four firefighters on each engine.
As of this reporting, Lyon County has sent an engine, as has Lake Valley, South Lake Tahoe Fire, Truckee Meadows and Fallen Leaf, along with leaders from a North Lake Tahoe Strike Team. There is one team of five, four on each engine and one strike team on standby, according to South Tahoe Now.
Forecasted high winds are fanning the flames when have claimed at least two lives, destroyed 1,000 structures and forced tens of thousands of people to evacuate their homes. On Monday, the National Weather Service in Los Angeles warned people of the “extremem risk” and that the conditions of the firestorm were “life-threatening and destructive.”
