As a long time observer of Home Companion services I absolutely assure you that $7,500 won’t go very far. Insurance, transportation, incidental expenses. The “companions” are not paid, but some expenses are covered. The savings to the taxpayer for keeping the elderly in their own homes for as long as possible is worth $4,000/month to the taxpayers per patient. It’s one of THE BEST investments the taxpayers can make.
