Western Nevada College’s Foundation has made applying for scholarships even more enticing in 2019. Not only is more scholarship funding available, but the process of applying has been simplified, allowing students to easily apply for more than 250 scholarships with one, easy application.

CARSON CITY — The motto at the Veterans Resource Center at Western Nevada College is “Veterans Helping Veterans.” For the local chapter of the Vietnam Veterans of America the rallying cry is “One Generation of Veterans Passing It on to The Next.”

Reach for the Stars Gala attendees enjoyed an unforgettable Saturday night under the stars at Jack C. Davis Observatory at Western Nevada College in Carson City. The third annual gala raised money for student scholarships, academic programs and the observatory.

Western Nevada College welcomed representatives of the United States Navy on Tuesday as they toured Jack C. Davis Observatory, as well as the college’s Advanced Manufacturing and Computer Information and Technology facilities at the Carson City campus.

CARSON CITY — Two new ProtoTrak CNC milling machines donated by Trak Machine Tools will expand machining experiences for students enrolled in Western Nevada College’s Machine Tool Technology program.

A new scholarship through the Western Nevada College Foundation honors the memory of Michael Albert Dugan. The Mike Dugan Memorial Scholarship will be awarded annually to a Fallon, Churchill County or rural student to be used toward materials for online or Fallon campus classes.

Carson City Toyota has generously funded $5,000 in scholarships for students attending Western Nevada College this fall. This donation is dedicated to helping students who are pursuing careers in automotive mechanics as well as students pursuing their associate degrees in other academic areas.

Thanks to a $1.45 million project funded by the William N. Pennington Foundation, Western Nevada College celebrated the opening of new biochemistry and human cadaver laboratories on Thursday.

Carson City developer Garth Richards’ passion as an auto collector and restorer has again touched the Automotive Mechanics program at Western Nevada College.

A new scholarship through the Western Nevada College Foundation encourages students to pursue careers in education. The Dr. Eugene Paslov Memorial Scholarship will be awarded annually to two students who plan to dedicate their careers to education.

The Leisure Hour Club’s scholarship recipients and Western Nevada College will be the focus of the Club’s dinner meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 15.
