Submitted by editor on Tue, 11/11/2014 - 4:39pmMatt Williams of the Washington Nationals has won the 2014 National League Manager of the Year award, as voted upon by the Baseball Writers Association of America.
Williams, 48, a Carson City native and graduate of Carson High School, was a first-year manager in 2014, taking over what had been a disappointing Nationals team in 2013. They'd win 96 games this past season, a 10-game improvement, taking the NL East by a whopping 17 games.

We all need to realize that there will be a loser in every game no matter what sport you watch. The loser of course takes more of the spotlight when the games mean a lot more than just a regular season game.
Yesterday, the Saint Louis Cardinals made one of the greatest comebacks in sports' history by beating the Washington Nationals in a decisive, winner-take-all, Game 5. The Nationals got off to a fantastic start by jumping out to a 6-0 lead. The Cardinals never gave in, and slowly chipped away at the Nationals’ lead.

Then, it was tossing his bat up 10 feet in the air as he hit a lazy fly-ball in the post-season tournament later in that season. Now, he's blowing kisses to the pitcher as he crosses home plate after a home run. My question is: When will the overpaid #1 draft pick of 2010 learn to just play the game?
