Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City region. Several fundraisers, including the annual “Share Your Christmas” Food Drive will be available throughout the Carson City, Minden and Reno areas on Friday. You can visit the North Pole safely as part of a drive-thru Santa's Village experience at V&T Railway in Carson City, beginning Friday into the weekend. A living nativity scene will be featured at First United Methodist Church on Saturday and Sunday. Combined with train rides in Virginia City, the state capital will be buzzing with excitement. Carson City students celebrate digital learning by coding robots

In celebration of National Digital Learning Day Thursday, Feb. 27, students throughout the Carson City School District, in particularly from Fritsch Elementary School, spent some time to learn online coding programs (equivalent to Javascript) and other coding programs that enabled them to command a robot to move and perform based on the code the students developed.

Sierra Nevada Ballet welcomes in the Spring Season with the annual production of Brew, Brats and Ballet-A Celebration of choreography on April 6 (7:30 PM) and April 7 (2:00 PM) at the Reno Little Theater and on April 13 (7:00 PM) at the Brewery Arts Center in Carson City.

This year the BBB presentation features six different choreographers with each one presenting a special short work and a short talk before it. The program culminates with a post performance Q and A session between choreographers and audience.
