Nevada United Veteran Legislative Council featured at Carson City council of U.S Navy League

The Carson City Council of the United States Navy League will hold its next meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2019 at the Gold Dust West Hotel and Casino, Carson City.

Our Dinner and Meeting will be held in the Juniper Room this month. The Social hour will start at 5:30 p.m. and Dinner will begin at 6:30 p.m.

Nevada Veterans Services to host 2019 Veterans Legislative Summit this Saturday

The public is invited to attend the 2019 Veterans Legislative Summit in Reno coming up this Saturday. The Veterans Summit is conducted by the Nevada Department of Veterans Services in partnership with the United Veterans Legislative Council.

Governor Sandoval to honor Carson City veteran Kevin Burns, Douglas veterans support group

Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval will honor a distinguished area veteran and a veteran's support group in a ceremony this coming Monday, August 21. The public is invited to attend as United Veterans Legislative Council Chairman Kevin Burns and the Douglas County non-profit, Welcome All Veterans Everywhere will be recognized and honored.

2017 Legislative Summit to provide veterans with information about upcoming legislative session

The Nevada Department of Veterans Services, in partnership with the United Veterans Legislative Council will be hosting an upcoming Legislative Summit in Carson City.

Nevada addressing suicide as public health crisis

Suicide has reached epidemic levels in Nevada, according to numbers from the Nevada Division of Public and Behavioral Health (DPBH), and the state has been stepping up efforts in recent years to combat the problem.

"We lose more than 500 Nevadans and 100 veterans to suicide per year," said Luana Ritch, Ph.D., a Community Health Planner with the Nevada DPBH. "It's really looking at this now as a public health crisis for Nevada."

Assemblyman PK O’Neill receives commendation from veterans group

CARSON CITY, Nev. – The United Veterans Legislative Council presented Assemblyman PK O’Neill with a certificate of appreciation in recognition of O’Neill’s service to Nevada veterans in the 78th legislative session.
