Carson Middle School celebrates Teacher Appreciation Week with a 'Survivor' challenge twist

Carson Middle School’s administration has created a twist to Teacher Appreciation Week. The weeklong celebration of teachers, held May 2-9, usually comes with a letter of appreciation and perhaps a small gift.

Students go 'dough to dough' to raise $11K for Carson City's Eagle Valley Middle School

CARSON CITY — Eagle Valley Middle School went "dough to dough" in the Parent Teacher Organization’s annual cookie dough fundraiser. In total, the gross sales were equivalent to more than $15,597. The school earned about 70 percent of total gross sales, bringing the net total to $11,034. A total of 888 units were sold.

Senator Square: Carson High School's future business leaders win state awards

Carson High School's Future Business Leaders of America claim five State Championships as well as 40 top 10 awards in spite of pandemic. CHS FBLA students just finished competing in the Nevada State Business Leadership Conference. Originally, the event was scheduled to be held in Reno, but had to be held digitally due to Covid-19.

For National Teacher Appreciation Week in Carson City, principals, office managers and administrators alike have also found novel ways to recognize and celebrate educators.

The National Association of Agriculture Educators is hosting a “National Teach Ag” campaign to encourage school-based agriculture programs and address the national demand for agriculture teachers. Mr. Charles Mann, Agriculture Science teacher at Carson High School, was 1 of 5 teachers chosen to be featured as a national spotlight.

This week is national Teacher Appreciation Week. Most people wish they had told their best teachers how much they appreciated them. This week, members of the Lyon and Storey region’s Health and Wellness Hub are making sure that the teachers of the school districts in Lyon and Storey know we appreciate the profoundly important work they do everyday.

For the 2017-2018 school year, a staff of 47 was dedicated to making a memorable book for others to keep throughout their lives and be passed down through generations; and again the book received the Gallery of Excellence Award, in which the book is used as an example of a successful yearbook in schools and at conferences across the country.
