Children's version of '101 Dalmatians' wags into Carson City's BAC this Friday

Paws what you’re doing and mark your calendar for Friday, June 21, 5 and 6:30 p.m. at the Brewery Arts Center. Students with the Carson City School District, in partnership with the Wild Horse Children’s Theater, will debut their Summer Theater Camp’s adaptation of Disney’s "101 Dalmatians, Kids." Admission to the play is free of charge; however, donations will be accepted.

Sierra Lutheran High School announces area summer camp offerings

Sierra Lutheran High School, in collaboration with Bethlehem Lutheran Church and School and Mt. Cross Ministries, has released its 2019 Summer Programs registration. Collectively, the three entities will offer seven unique summer programs, including two week-long overnight programs.

To help raise funds for the Salvation Army, two Carson City area Kiwanis groups are having a friendly Challenge.

The Kiwanis club of Carson City has been bell ringing for The Salvation Army at Smiths on Hwy 50 for many years and now the Kiwanis of Sierra Nevada have challenged them to a “ring off.”

Carson City Salvation Army Red Kettle campaign underway with $160,000 fundraising goal

Bell ringers are back for the Salvation Army's annual Red Kettle campaign with more than 30 locations throughout Carson City, Douglas County and surrounding communities.

The campaign goal for 2016 is $160,000, said Salvation Army Captain Mark Cyr. Bell ringers in 2015 raised $151,200.

The Salvation Army will be hiring seasonal works to help with holiday programs such as Thanksgiving food drives, Christmas food drives and its Angel Tree Christmas Toy distribution.
