She’s a grand ole flag, and there will be two ceremonies to recognize the stars and stripes in Carson City today. At 10 a.m. you can join the Nevada National Guard at the Veterans Memorial on the Capitol Grounds for presentation of the colors, speakers, and even cake for the US Army’s anniversary. You’ll find the Elks Club honoring our flag at 3 p.m. The public are invited to both events. Speaker Jim Clark will present Part II of his program, “More Trains in the Westerns” in a free presentation at the Dangberg Home Ranch Historic Park on Saturday, June 16, at 10 a.m.

Jim Clark, known to many as “The Train Man”, returns for a third year to cover more of the 250 films he has worked on. Clark is an engineer and train coordinator who is associated with several of the biggest films with trains and their Hollywood stars. Some of those films include "The Lone Ranger", "Wild, Wild, West", "Into the West" and “Water for Elephants”.

Nevada history buffs can view ‘The Ox-bow Incident’

RENO — “The Ox-bow Incident,” a 1943 motion picture adapted from an iconic novel by the same name by one of Nevada’s most famous authors, will be shown at April’s High Noon Shootout with Neal Cobb at the Nevada Historical Society.

Carson City Classic Cinema Club will meet again April 3 for a viewing of "Lawrence of Arabia." Peter O'Toole stars as T.E. Lawrence, a British officer who is sent to Arabia in 1917.
