Two jailed for felony heroin trafficking following Carson City SET operation
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Mon, 02/09/2015 - 12:13pmThe Carson City Sheriff’s Special Enforcement Team arrested two men late Saturday on felony drug trafficking and conspiracy charges with 14.5 grams of heroin recovered, plus marijuana and $1,400 cash, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
5th Annual CHS Safe and Sober 5k Run/Walk a Success

The weather cleared up this morning and with just a bit of wind at race time, we couldn’t have asked for more perfect weather, maybe even a sunburn.

Senator Square: Carson High seniors volunteer during Carson City election

Emely Lopez, Claudia Vazquez, Kimberly Torres, Karina Munoz, Maria Pacheco, Deanna Earwicker, and Amber Seifert spent the day at the polls welcoming and assisting voters. Each year, CHS government teachers work in conjunction with the Carson City Clerk-Recorder’s office to provide student volunteers for the elections. We’d like to wish out-going Clerk-Recorder Alan Glover the best of luck in his retirement and we look forward to continuing our relationship with that office as Ms.

The Nevada Rural Counties RVSP carnival runs through the weekend at Mills Park. Tonight RSVP will host a spectacular fireworks celebration over Carson City to go along with its 22nd annual holiday carnival.
Buyer emerges for Empire Ranch Golf Course

GSR Investments, a company connected with Richards, owner of Silver Oak Golf Course, has bought the deed of trust to the struggling 27-hole Empire Ranch Golf Course and has paid outstanding taxes owed to the city.

Hundreds of classic cars will be up for bidding, as well as associated memorabilia. The car auctions will be in the afternoon all three days starting at 1 p.m., with the memorabilia auctions starting each day at 11.

Carson High School Class of '82 - 30 year reunion

July 13th will start off with a meet and greet at High Sierra Brewery beginning, at 6pm. On July 14th, golf has been set up at Silver Oak Golf Course with tee times beginning at 8:00 am. Dinner, with a live band will follow at that location beginning at 6:00 pm. On Sunday the 15th, family day at Round Hill Beach at Tahoe will complete the activities. Classic car auction underway at Silver Oak Golf Course

There are more than 500 cars up for auction, everything from classic antiques to 70s muscle cars. Out of that 500, 150 cars come from the collection of Carson City businessman Garth Richards.
The event kicked off yesterday, and they celebrated with a fireworks display last night.

That time ended many years ago with the construction of many privately owned golf courses in and around Carson City. For a while, it seemed a new course was being built every year. We were suddenly flush with great courses, and something new to market our area to visitors.
