Sierra Lutheran is inviting area veterans to attend a special Veterans Day assembly at the school on Wednesday, November 7, from 9:30 - 10:00 a.m., as part of its annual “Remembering And Honoring Our Heroes.”

The focus of the commemorative ceremony will be to educate students and interested community members on the history of Veterans Day, while also taking time to salute veterans in attendance.

Carson City area high school students were visited Thursday by the national cable and satellite television network C-SPAN and its state-of-the-art motor coach bus.

Sierra Lutheran Hosts Grade School Night Basketball Games

All families of grade school students are invited to this annual event on Saturday, Feb. 3. Families will be admitted to all basketball games for FREE. There will be half-time games for the kids, and young basketball players are encouraged to attend the locker room “pre-game talks” with Varsity coaches.

Snack bar and free photo opps will be available. Varsity games are at 4 & 5:30pm, versus Mineral County (Hawthorne). Don't miss this fun event and a chance to get to know Sierra Lutheran High School a little bit better!

Sierra Lutheran Hosts Mini Cheer Camp

This annual event is hosted by the SLHS Cheerleaders at Sierra Lutheran. Students will learn cheers, jumps, and a band dance, then perform at the half-time of the Sierra Lutheran JV boys game for the whole family to come watch! (at no additional cost!). Cost is $30 per student, $25 for each additional sibling. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to local resident Aunicka Pierce, an 11-year-old recently diagnosed with bone cancer. Falcons Academic Olympics Closes Out Strong Fall Sports Season for SLHS

As Sierra Lutheran’s winter sports season begins, they are looking back and celebrating the last Fall NIAA sport to finish its season - Academic Olympics. 



Over Thanksgiving break, AO teams from around the region travelled to Eureka for the State Championship. Sierra Lutheran’s team members are the Regional Champions, winning the Western Division by a margin of 10 points. Quite a feat, considering how strong the Western Division is - Whittell, the team ranked 3rd regionally, was the State Champion.

The Sierra Lutheran Cross Country Team traveled to Folsom, California for the Bella Vista Bronco Invitational on Saturday, Oc. 14. The weather was clear and cool with a touch of humidity. The course of 3.1 miles winds across a grass field, semi-hard packed dirt trails and gravel roads through Willow Hills Cross Country Course at the Willow Hills Reservoir.
