Shakespeare Festival

Sierra Nevada Ballet has selected the famed Coppelia ballet for their summer performances which are scheduled for July 27 at Nightingale Hall as part of the Artown Festival and July 29 on the outdoor stage at Sand Harbor State Park in conjunction with the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival.

The Reno Jazz Orchestra, will present a jazz and gospel version of Porgy and Bess with the Pat Esters Gospel Choir. This will be an evening to remember! Set on the shores of Sand Harbor, this pictureqsue setting will be an ideal backdrop for the 17 piece Jazz Orchestra plus The Pat Esters Gospel Choir.

A series of classical music concerts featuring a 38 piece symphony orchestra of world-renowned artists highlights Lake Tahoe SummerFest in August. Weekend performances include Friday and Saturday night symphonies and Sunday programming for families.

Internationally renowned soloists and a world-class orchestra of 38 instrumentalists will contribute to an exclusive series of classical concerts and performances during Lake Tahoe SummerFest, the first three weekends of August.

North Lake Tahoe takes its music outdoors with a variety of live concerts, festivals and headliner events – all part of the destination’s High Notes: North Lake Tahoe Summerlong Music series, running June through September. The lake’s live music campaign also has a designated website that covers all the free events and ticketed performances.

Free Weekly Summer Concerts

For a limited time, VIP Season Passes are available for the inaugural Lake Tahoe SummerFest, (www.tahoesummerfest.org) a series of classical music concerts. This transferable VIP Season Pass includes exclusive seating to all nine performances over the first three weekends of August; after-concert receptions with Artistic Director and Principal Conductor, Joel Revzen, and the orchestra; and preferred parking.

If you ever thought your dog had a future on the stage, look no further. The Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival in Incline Village, NV announces auditions for “Crab” – the dog who plays an important and loving role in William Shakespeare’s "The Two Gentlemen of Verona" which will be performed from July 13 – August 26, 2012 at Sand Harbor State Park.

The Best of the Best of Broadway will be presented as part of the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival on July 25 at 7:30 PM. This spectacular musical and dance theater medley will be performed at the Sand Harbor Warren Trepp Amphitheater on beautiful Lake Tahoe by the Sierra Nevada Ballet and musical friends.

Musical numbers from some of the all time favorite musicals such as Show Boat, Sweet Charity, Hello Dolly and more will offer “a vivid performance under the stars for all ages and musical interests”, according to Artistic
Director, Rosine Bena.
