Good Day Carson City, it is Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2018. The winter weather continues today albeit without any storm watches or warnings this morning. Light snow showers will continue today and and pick up tonight with less than an inch possible. As always be careful out on the roads. You'll be able to warm up at a number of venues today, including a holiday swing party with Big Bad Voodoo Daddy at Casino Fandango's new Grand Ballroom and at the Carson City School District Orchestra Program concert at the community center.

Hello Carson City and welcome to Monday, Dec. 3, 2018. A busy week ahead will start off chilly with sunny skies today and chances of snow daily through Thursday. Otherwise, bundle up and enjoy the late fall weather. Winter officially arrives Dec. 21.

The skies above Carson City are forecast to be mostly sunny and blue Sunday, but the air near freezing at 35 degrees for a daytime high. Bundle up if you decided to recreate outdoors today.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas in the Nevada state capital, and there is no shortage of holiday events and activities to make the season bright.

For most, waking up this morning to rain was a big relief given the fire situation over the past few months. Today is Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2018. Today is known as "Giving Tuesday" an international day of charitable offering established five days after Thanksgiving at the beginning of the Christmas and holiday season. Meals on Wheels Carson City will be participating in the 2018 Subaru Share the Love Event as a member of Meals on Wheels America, one of four national Share the Love charitable partners supported through the promotion. From Nov. 15 through Jan. 2, 2019, Subaru of America will donate $250 for every new Subaru vehicle sold or leased to the customer's choice of participating charities.

SILVER CITY, Nev. — Carson City’s recognition of the importance of arts and culture to a thriving community is very much in line with that of nearby Silver City. The Comstock town is known as an "Arts and Cultural Resources Production Center" due to the work residents have contributed in the fields of arts and cultural resources.

The November meeting of the Carson City Republican Women's Club will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 20 at the Carson Nugget. Guest speaker Jason Woodbury will speak on the subject of the Constitution and grand juries.

At this meeting we will also honor all military veterans accompanied by a Carson City Republican Woman member with a lunch paid for by the Club. Social time is 11 a.m. and the meeting is called to order at 11:30 a.m.

Come check out the sixth annual Dayton Clothes Swap on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Dayton Senior Center, 320 Dayton Valley Road in Dayton.

Carson City-based In Plain Sight Marketing, LLC was presented the Public Relations Society of America’s Award of Excellence in the category, Earned Media Relations — Online, Print and Expert Positioning, and the Bronze Spike award for community relations for its work on behalf of the Carson City Senior Center and Meals on Wheels Carson City.

Silver City Arts and Carson City artists are forming a sister city alliance.

Nevada Day and the big parade are just one week away, but first is the annual Carson City Ghost Walk this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in downtown Carson City.

Meals on Wheels Carson City sent up the bat signal today to seek local superheroes to join The Reliables, a team of community-minded folks determined to tackle hunger and loneliness in Carson’s home-bound senior population.

Partnership Douglas County, formerly known as Partnership of Community Resources, hosted the 2nd annual Empower Youth Conference at the Douglas County Community and Senior Center on Saturday, Sept. 29. PDC, often called “The Partnership”, is a nonprofit community coalition that has served Douglas County since 1993.
