The doors of the Save Mart Supermarket on Highway 50 East in Carson City closed for business on Saturday, March 26, to make way for the store's conversion to Food Maxx, security personnel on the property said today.

The grocery chain decided in February to turn the property at 3325 Highway 50 East into a Food Maxx grocery store, a warehouse-style brand owned by Save Mart Supermarkets, Inc.

Carson City sheriff's detectives investigated two early morning stabbings

Two men were stabbed early Monday morning in separate locations but the cases are related, a Carson City Sheriff's Office lieutenant said.
