Join us for another unique shopping experience while assisting Carson High School students. The 26th annual Carson High Holiday Craft Fair will be held Friday, Nov. 18th and Saturday, Nov. 19th at Carson High School, 1111 North Saliman Road, Carson City.

This Friday through Sunday, Dec. 13-15, the first Homestead Holidays at Silver Saddle Ranch, hosted by the Carson City Parks, Recreation and Open Space Department, will be bringing a free family event to the community with some good old-fashioned Christmas charm.

Get a special holiday picture of your pet with Santa and help the kitties of Catmandu at the same time. Santa will be at Petco, 911 Topsy Lane in Carson City, on Saturday, Dec. 7, and agains Saturday and Sunday Dec. 14-15, from 1 to 4 p.m. to take pictures with your pets.

The donation of $9.95 goes to Catmandu, Carson City's cage-free cat shelter. You will receive a digital picture that you can print or send as often as you like. Merry Fluffmas from Catmandu!

Carson Tahoe Care Center invites community members to grab their cameras and join residents and guests for pictures with Santa on Saturday, Dec. 7 from 9 a.m. to noon. Capture the holiday spirit with personalized Santa photos, complete with a Winter Wonderland backdrop and holiday refreshments.

Carson Now has partnered with Carson City's Parks, Recreation and Open Space's first annual "Homestead Holidays" to offer a Letters to Santa writing campaign.

Download your Letters to Santa form from Carson Now, and you can send it off to the big man at the magical North Pole mailbox, which will be available for letters during the Homestead Holidays celebration Dec. 13-15, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Silver Saddle Ranch in Carson City.

This Saturday, Dec. 15, marks the annual Cookies with Santa celebration in Carson City at Cafe at Adele’s, offering Christmas cheer to all who attend and providing gifts for children in need. The joy-filled event takes place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., with cookies, cocoa and cider served, and Santa on hand to hear last-minute gift wishes.

Great news for Carson High School students as Librarian Ananda Campbell is making sure her library stays cutting edge.

Campbell was awarded both the Library Services and Technology Act Community Enrichment Grant from the Nevada State Library and Archives and the Carson City School District Schools Foundation Mini Grant Teacher Award to help fund Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Projects and to assist in facilitating an ever-changing CHS Senators Library Collaborative Learning area.

The Carson Mall is pleased to invite all of you to a series of “events within an event.” During the Carson Mall Christmas Craft Fair, running through December 24th, there will be several limited-time events.

The weekend is quickly approaching bringing fun events like the State Railroad Museum’s Santa Train, a special performance by Antsy McClain at the Brewery Arts Center, and the return of the drive-through Living Nativity at the United Methodist Church. If you’re itching for the chance to get your picture with Santa, head to Red’s Old 395 tonight. Stretch your vocal cords with karaoke at Jimmy G’s Cigar Bar or at Living the Good Life.

75 years ago, the USS Nevada was one of the battleships trapped when the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor. She was the only battleship to get underway during the attack, and according to Naval historian Kermit (Kit) H. Bonner the ship was "the only bright spot in an otherwise dismal and depressing morning" for the United States. Today we remember those lost in that attack, and remember the history behind the battleship that is our battle born namesake. A special exhibit of USS Nevada artifacts, and a lecture on her history are free for all at the State Museum at 1 p.m.

Don’t think that Sundays are just for rest, there is plenty to coax you out of your pajamas today. Take a trip with Santa at the Nevada Railroad Museum. Search for treasures and do your Christmas shopping at Fuji Park today, one of the multiple craft shows in town. Don’t forget to head to the First Presbyterian Church for the Annual Empty Bowls Fundraiser. You’ll get a handmade, hand painted ceramic bowl to keep and lots of yummy food to keep you warm. The talented kids of Wild Horse Children’s Theater hit the stage for opening night of ‘Elf Jr.

December has arrived and it brings a plethora of holiday cheer. Gardnerville kicks off the weekend of lights with their Heritage Park Tree lighting, caroling, and fireworks. Carson City, Genoa, and Minden follow suit Friday with their own lighting festivities.
