Thin Veil Investigators, an investigative team which is based in Carson City, hosted two fundraisers for the “Do Drop In” this month. DeeDee Foremaster is the owner of this non-profit organization, first established November 17, 1998.

Nevada Author, Sandie La Nae will be lecturing on her book “Nevada’s Oldest Hotel Gold Hill Hotel” at the Gold Hill Hotel Thursday Night Lectures. A PowerPoint presentation will also be featured.

Heading into the weekend, there’s an abundance of activities around the capital city region over the next three days. The Brewery Arts Center hosts a female version of "The Odd Couple." Carson City's Greenhouse Project is hosting a lunch and dinner fundraiser toward a healthier State Capitol. Dale Poune will perform at Bella Vita Bistro, plus comedy at the Carson Nugget, the Nevada Caucus on Saturday, an open house at the historic Foreman-Roberts House, a Latin-themed concert at the community center and more. Nevada Author, Sandie La Nae, and Nevada Historian, Arline La Ferry, will be selling their newest book "Nevada's Oldest Hotel Gold Hill Hotel" at the Gold Hill Hotel on Saturday Feb. 22, 2020. From 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., books can be purchased and autographed by Sandie and Arline.

Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of holiday events around the Carson City region over the next three days. Events include the Silver and Snowflake Festival of Lights, the 24th annual Parade of Lights in Gardnerville, the annual Project Empty Bowls dinner held at the Carson Mall, a Holiday Crawl in downtown Carson City and much more! Nevada Author, Sandie La Nae will be selling her popular books at the Flying Pig Flea Market for your gift giving ideas.
Genre's include the "Weird" volumes, co-authored with Special Works Historian, Arline La Ferry, and the "Historic-Paranormal" books, featuring historic and haunted buildings in the Carson City area.

Titles include: WEIRD - "Carson City," "Reno," and the "Virginia City Trilogy."

Along with "St. Charles Hotel," "The Old Genoa Bar", "Alpine Hotel in Markleeville," "Buckland Station," "St. Mary Louise Hospital," "Wells Fargo Office," and others.

To help members of the Leisure Hour Club celebrate Halloween, Sandie La Nae will share her knowledge of Carson City’s spirits at the Club’s next meeting on Wednesday, October 16.

Heading into Thursday, Sept. 12, 2019, events around the capital city region include a morning hike at Lake Tahoe, a Healthy Communities meeting in Virginia City, a cross-country convoy of vintage military vehicles that will make a stopover at the Nevada State Railroad Museum, activities at the Carson City Library, book author presentations at the Nevada State Library and Archives and the Brewery Arts Center, food trucks at Mills Park and more. Meet the Author at the BAC is a free event Thursday, Sept. 2th, 5:15pm, open to the public. Sandie La Nae, author of “Weird Carson City” will talk about her book with PowerPoint presentation, and have copies available for purchase and to autograph.

The event is September 12th, 5:15pm at the ballroom at the Brewery Arts Center, 449 King Street, Carson City, Nev. The public is welcome, and beverages and wine benefiting the Brewery Arts will be available for purchase.

This book is one in their "WEIRD" series, with each volume filled with all sorts of trivia, fun facts, and fascinating information about our Capital town. La Nae states: "Over 260 pages of forgotten or lost history, present day information, and a surprise at the end."

Author of 19 books so far, La Nae and La Ferry will be offering a special price on their book, as well as 'Author-graphs.'

The Old West Trio returns to the Dangberg Home Ranch Historic Park this coming week in an evening concert, while two local musicians are featured at the park’s upcoming Neighbor Fair, an event highlighting Carson Valley’s non-profit organizations.

Good morning Carson City, and happy June! We have a ton of events going on today in our beloved capital city, with the June wine walk, the first day of the farmer’s market, a brew fest at Fuji park, and more! With a high of 75, it’s shaping up to finally start to feel like summer (knock on wood).

Heading into a jam-packed weekend of events around the Carson City region, there's a bevy of activities Friday to get your started. Lace up your shoes for a morning walk at Riverview Park, and then head on over to the Nevada State Museum for a coin press demonstration, and tours that explore anthropology and Nevada history. Later there's a cruise night gathering at Carson Mall to benefit Safe Grad Night, an Italian dinner fundraiser at the Governor's Mansion to benefit Carson City's homeless, live music at Living the Good Life and A to Zen, laughs at the Carson Comedy Club, and much more. La Nae, author of 19 books, will be featuring her volume written about the historic building that Morley's Books is housed in, "Wells Fargo Office."

Other books Sandie will be selling of her historic volumes include Buckland Station, St. Charles Hotel, Genoa Bar, Alpine Hotel in Markleeville, and those from her "WEIRD" series about Carson City, Reno, and Virginia City.

Buffalo Bill’s Wild West returns to Dangberg Historic Park for a third year on Saturday, August 25 with festivities beginning at 2 p.m. This is the park’s final special event of the 2018 Dangberg Summer Festival, focused on raising funds to support the operation and future of the park.

Doc Durden is a Western Performer who depicts Wild Bill Hickok, including his bullwhip cracking talent.

After back to back three-day weekends, this one may feel a little short. Grab onto the hours allotted and have a good time. The monthly downtown wine walk is a great way to catch up with friends after the bustle of the holiday season. The annual Be Bold, Run in the Cold Winter Trail Series offers the Winter Round-up 5 or 10K. If staying active is a resolution, then a brisk run in our hills fits the bill. For something less strenuous, you can join our Parks and Recreation Department for a Winter Wonderland Walk along the Carson River.
